I´m officially over the foothills! The big 3-0! I celebrated with Pedro´s family--my second birthday in Peru. It was very nice. We had turkey, potato salad with pineapple, and a whole variety of "appetizers". Pedro bought me a cake--vanilla with peaches and manjarblanco, which is kind of a mix between peanut butter and caramel. It was all so delicious!
I got some wonderful presents, talked with the family, and even met some new people, but the highlight of the night was the entertainment, namely Leo, Pedro´s 5-year-old nephew. First, he was using his great-grandmother´s cane to act old and to dance with. Then, he was posing for me. Finally, as his great-grandmother sang a beautiful song for me, he mimed along with her. It was hilarious!
By the end of the night, he was fast asleep on the couch, exhausted from his non-stop comedy routine.
